The Hall of Heroic Citizens

The following is in response to “The Hall of Heroic Citizens” by Gregg Badichek via Used Gravitrons.

"Using his incredible speed, Bombasta-Man grabbed an unopened bottle of whiskey off the table, and easily downed it in the blink of an eye."

This piece of flash fiction depicts a random group of superheroes that, in the throes of the end of the world which even they aren’t going to be able to prevent, are getting completely drunk on wine and bourbon. It seems that the super villain in the story, Optitron, has come out of exile and punched the planet out of orbit and towards the sun.

This hilarious piece forces the reader to look inward at their own mortality as well as showing them a side of superheroes that they’ve never really seen before. I mean there is always the part of the book or movie in which it seems that the superhero will not pull through, but they always do. Not in this case. A very interesting read. Thanks Badichek.
